Each year I teach pupils who believe they can't draw or design. I usually start in September with a lesson on avoiding fixation, a topic that has fascinated me since working with Bill Nichol at Cambridge University. I decided to come up with 10 strategies that I commonly use in lessons as 'up the sleeve' techniques to encourage pupils to rethink their approach. These strategies formed into a resource and soon became 50 activities with worksheets, time lapse videos and files to laser cut and 3D print. The resources are printed and laminated back to back and kept in the workshop to be dipped into whenever called for. The cards have QR codes that will jump them into this page or videos of the activities being completed.
